Hocus Pocus LITE Confident Beginner-Friendly Quilt Pattern
~Over the years I have heard that there are folks who are a little intimidated by some of the techniques used in the original Hocus Pocus quilt pattern. I finally decided to see if I could revamp the pattern so that it would be more conducive to a confident beginner quilter. Hocus Pocus LITE is the result of that effort and I have to admit, I'm really happy with it! Take a look at how the two versions compare below:
Hocus Pocus LITE is entirely traditionally pieced! No y-seams, curves, FPP, or inset circles this time. If you are comfortable with stitch-n-flip corners, you can make this quilt! There ARE templates for the witch hat block, but they are notched to make piecing easy and I've provided detailed illustrations for lining up the notches. The pattern comes with cutting charts and diagrams for the yardage, as well as individual block cutting charts for folks who want to get scrappy from their stash. As always, the instructions are fully illustrated, step-by-step, to make the pattern easy to follow. Labels and a coloring page are also provided.
I created the sample version using the Moda Bella solids below!
If you are looking to make the bright version, I've got you covered with the Moda Bella solid swatch names below.
If you aren't quite ready to tackle the original I hope you feel confident enough to take on the LITE version this spooky season! Find the quilt pattern here. Happy sewing!
